Guardrail
Where the Protocol gets tested.
What is Guardrail?
If the Protocol is the thinking, this is the doing. Guardrail is where ideas from the Protocol get run against real tools, real data, and real scenarios — small, hands-on trials to see whether a framework actually holds up outside of theory.
Trials
A running log of hands-on experiments — short, specific, and honest about what happened.
Trial: Can AWS Macie catch synthetic PHI in a sample dataset?
A quick test — loading a dataset with fake patient data into S3 and seeing what Macie flags, what it misses, and how usable the results actually are.
Trial: What does a prompt to Claude actually log?
Sending a sample prompt containing synthetic patient data through the Anthropic API and tracing where that data ends up — logs, retries, anywhere else.
Trial: Writing one compliance rule as code
Using Open Policy Agent to write a single, simple rule — "flag any log entry containing a date of birth" — and seeing how far that idea scales before it gets complicated.
